Amy Runs

I am a half-marathoner. I love to run and I do it 4 times a week. I am in great shape and I look and feel like it. I never get tired when I run and I never quit before I finish my runs. I always feel strong when I run and I feel terrific after I finish. I love the feeling of accomplishment and the anticipation of my next run. I am a half-marathoner.

My Running Quest

A runner? Not me. Well . . . maybe so? I started running in May of 2009. I have no athletic ability whatsoever. I hated gym in school, never played sports . . . and sweating???? Forget about it! Not for me. I did take my daughter for walks with a friend - a very long legged friend - several times a week. I always admired the runners we saw on the track. So, I decided to try running. I started by using the Couch to 5K program. It is an awesome 8 week program that literally got me off of the couch and running a 3.1 mile race in 8 weeks. My goal was to finish the race, and not to finish last. I was successful . . . then I was hooked! For me, running is about setting attainable goals (both short term and long term) and achieving them. Nothing feels better than finishing a run! It's a wonderful cycle . . . running makes me feel successful and being successful makes me want to run! My next long term goal is to run a half-marathon. That is 13.1 miles! I am training hard and looking forward to it!
